The Parish Giving Scheme

St Matthew’s Church

The Church of England offers a Christian presence in every community.  It seeks to be at the heart of all our cities, towns, and villages by serving our communities, by sharing our faith and values, and by worshipping together in our wonderful buildings.  But this valuable contribution to our community has a cost, and so for our church to survive and grow, we rely on regular long-term donations so that we can confidently plan for the future.  Leyburn Parochial Church Council joined the PGS in December 2019.

How does the Parish Giving Scheme work?
Donations to St Matthew’s are made through the scheme by using a Direct Debit, which can be made on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.  Your gift, plus any associated Gift Aid, is then passed to us by the end of the same month.

What are the benefits?
Through your generous giving we can be assured of a regular, tax-efficient source of income which has the capacity to increase with the cost of living, yet involves virtually no administration.

How can you join?
To set up a regular gift to us, please call the Parish Giving Scheme dedicated telephone line:

03330 021 271

One of the PGS administrators will take you through the process of signing up—this normally takes around 15 minutes.  You will need to have the following information to hand:

· Your personal bank details
· The name of the Parish you wish to donate to ( Leyburn St Matthew )
· You will need to confirm if you want to increase your gift in line with inflation each year
· You will need to confirm if you are eligible for Gift Aid
· The PGS code for our parish ( 460 646 385 )

What happens next?
You will receive written confirmation (by email or post) of your Direct Debit, including details of the parish you are supporting, the amount of your gift and the date of your first donation.

If you currently give to St Matthew’s by Standing Order, please wait until you have received the confirmation letter before cancelling it.
